Environmental Audits - Purpose and Method

The River Channel

Note of obstructions in the channel such as dams, weirs, spikes (major), or jetties, debris from commercial felling of trees, fences (minor)

Note condition of built structures (photos useful here).

Where it is possible, the position of obstructions should be marked on a map.

An estimate of the extent of obstructions to the river's channel would be useful e.g.

Level of Obsruction Description Score
Natural No obstructions
1
Mildly A few minor obstructions
2
Moderately Minor obstructions and/or major obstruction
3
Highly Numerous minor and/or more than one major obstruction
4
