Environmental Audits - Purpose and Method

Drainage Basin Issues

Assessment of any interference with natural flow regimes including

  • water intakes or extractions

  • outflows such as dam releases

A general assessment of basin land uses, i.e agriculture (type); commercial forestry; industry; urban development; moorland

A note of any development proposals e.g. power or building projects

An estimate of paddling usage on the following scale:
Low Usage = Rarely paddled
Medium Usage = Occasionally paddled
High Usage = Regularly paddled
Very High Usage = Regularly paddled by large numbers

A note of known points of conflict over access for paddling.
