IMPORTANT ACCESS & RIVER INFORMATION

Canoeing in Scotland in the summer is more sensitive than during the winter months due to an increase of other river users.

Saturday
Only use recognised access points and show consideration to fishermen if practising. There will be rafts and other kayaks/canoes too

Sunday
Access only during the day on Sunday. NO SATURDAY ACCESS. The water release is only available on Sunday, so you may as well come and enjoy some racing on the Tay on Saturday!

  • Please park carefully off the road at the Start. It is a busy public highway and poor parking in the past has caused REAL PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCAL POLICE.
  • Please be careful when driving on the narrow road to the Smokery and be considerate to other users of the Smokery when parking at Finish
  • Beware of ‘playboaters’ that will be sharing the river!
  • Egress under the Chain Bridge. Beware of the weir below the Finish.

Monday
Please restrict use of the river to the Grandtully Falls section only.
