About
Us
Established in 1939, the Scottish Canoe Association is the recognised
governing body of canoe sport and recreation in Scotland. We provide
our members with an opportunity to have their views represented
at both local, national and international levels. The SCA recognises
the major contribution made by individual members to the development
of our sport within Scotland, and throughout the world.
Our membership
is represented by an elected Board of Management, who oversee the
four streams of the organisation - Access, Recreation, Coaching
and Competition. Within these streams are working committees - Recreational
Rivers, Touring, White Water Racing, Sprint Racing, Marathon, Canoe
Sailing, Canoe Polo, Slalom and Surf. The Scottish Canoe Association
is a founding member of the British Canoe Union (also comprising
CANI, ECA and WCA).
Note; Under
the BCU/SCA Federal Agreement, only individuals with postal addresses
in Scotland (or that are resident out with the United Kingdom) are
entitled to join this Association along with an interest in and
agree with why the Association exists.
