As a current individual member, am I covered when not operating under the auspices of the SCA?
Yes, you are covered when doing your own thing in the UK and abroad (except in North America which excludes business activities but not leisure activities).

I know that I have an obligation to report all incidents to the insurance brokers that may give rise to a claim but what does this actually mean in practice?
This may be interpreted as any incident involving injury to: Heads, Backs, Children, Hospitalisation and/or Hospital/Doctor check. If in any doubt whether you should report an incident, contact the insurance brokers immediately for advice.

What is meant by the term Civil Liability Insurance?
Civil Liability is a wide ranging definition that includes Public Liability, Products Liability, Errors and Omissions, Member to Member Liability, Libel, Slander, Interest of Principals and all other matters under civil law.

Does the insurance cover damage or injury to other cars or persons as a result of my boat leaving a car roof rack, even when I am only a passenger in that car?
Yes, although there is a Third Party Property Damage Excess payable in some instances.

I am a member of an Affiliated Club but not a member of the SCA. Am I covered when taking part in a canoeing or social activity organised by the club?
Yes, as long as you remain a paid up and registered member of your Club.

I am a member of an Affiliated Club but not a member of the SCA. Am I covered when taking part in a canoeing activity that isn't organised by my club (e.g. paddling with friends who may or may not be club members)?
No, you are only covered when taking part in a canoeing or social activity organised by the club.

Does the insurance cover theft or damage of my own boat?
No, the insurance covers Third Parties only.
