River Advisers

River Advisers are happy to be contacted for information about likely flows, any access difficulties or considerations and new hazards.

You can help a River Adviser significantly by reporting any new hazards or access "incidents" after your trip on the river. If a river does not have a specific adviser then please contact an alternative adviser in that same part of the country and they will be pleased to help.

The National Access Co-ordinator welcomes comments from paddlers on the River Advisory Service and we are always keen to recruit volunteers or receive useful information about rivers, even if they are not mentioned in the SCA guide.

Please remember that it is a voluntary service and is only as good as you, the paddlers, make it.

Please note that you are under no obligation to contact a River Adviser, but that if you are planning a trip with a large group or are uncertain of any details about access to a particular river or stretch of water then it would be best to seek advice.

If you have to phone a River Advisor, please make sure that you do so at a sensible time i.e after 8 am and before 9 pm.
