Falloch

There have been proposals for hydro which could affect the Falloch. It is not yet clear what the impact of this will be. It appears that two tributaries will be affected. One of the tribs, the Allt Fionn Ghlinne is not a very attractive looking run: lots of portages and nasty bedrock. The other is the burn which can be seen tumbling down the hillside at Inveranan and its loss is more one of scenic amenity than paddling opportunity. There is still potential for an adverse effect on the flow in the Falloch depending on the details of the scheme but potentially this could be a scheme which can produce hydro power and which has little impact for canoeing.
