The Open Canoe
Symposium is being held this year in the Lake District at the Lakeside
YMCA National Centre.

- Harry Rock. World Champion of Canoe Poling
Level 5 coaches
will be offering a wide range of flat water, canoe sailing, river
running and play-boating sessions:
Saturday evening
Buffet, bar, band and presentations.

The symposium
will be supported by major manufacturers and importers. There will
also be several trade stands.

5pm Friday 8th November
Friday:
There will be several slide shows and a bar on-site during the evening.
Saturday:
Half/full day workshops on the lake and on local rivers.
The Open Canoe Sailing Group will be holding an open regatta, with
opportunities to try some sailing rigs.
The evening
includes a presentation by Graham Mackereth of Piranha.
'Open Boat Production - From Conception to Completion'
Slides of exotic adventures by canoe.
Ceilidh band and bar.
Photo competition.
Sunday:
Half/full day workshops on the lake and on local rivers.
Sailing canoes.
A fun regatta (where enthusiasm is more important than skill)
Try boats from major manufacturers and importers.
Departure: Late
afternoon.
