IAIN ABERCROMBY , NEIL BAXTER, IAN BLOOMFIELD, JOHN INGLIS, CLARE JONES , MARTINE LAW , ROBERT MCCUTCHEON , DAVID RUSSELL, RICKY SCOTT, IAN SHERRINGTON , TRACY SHERRINGTON, WOUTER WYNBERG, JOCK YOUNG returned from the World Surf Kayak Championships in Co Sligo, Ireland having achieved 5^th place out of 14 teams, in a fiercely contended Team Event.  They battled through the 2 rounds in varying surf conditions and gained their reputation as Big Wave Surfers.  The team are to build on this over the next two years leading up to the next worlds in Costa Rica.

Winning Performance

Success came in bringing home 2 World Champions to Scotland - Wouter Wynberg (Edinburgh) won the Individual Junior Men High Performance Event and Neil Baxter (Edinburgh)  won the Masters Individual Title.  Notable individual efforts such as Jock Young (Edinburgh) making it to the Master’s final and finishing 4^th,  with Ian Bloomfield (Fife) fighting through a tough field for 5 rounds and managed a very impressive 4^th in the International Class.

Our Women gave a good performance and have shown great improvement.  Tracy Sherrington was 5^th in the International Kayak Women and Martine Law was 5^th in the High Performance women competition.
