Course Details
Long

Bridge of Isla to the North Inch at Perth. The course includes the Campsie Linn, Stanley Weir and Thistlebrig rapids.

Acess to the river is via the SCA Access Point. Cars may be parked in the field beside Isla Bridge, please ensure that the gate is kept shut except when in use for access.

Short

Stanley to the North Inch at Perth. The course includes considerable sections of whitewater and includes Stanley Weir and Thistlebrig rapids.

Important Note : Due to ongoing problems with access to the river in the vicinity of Stanley, paddlers are asked to leave cars parked at the top of the lane in Stanley village or at the finish in Perth and to ensure that they do not cause an obstruction while unloading equipment or annoyance to people living close to the river. Please make sure that you have enough time to get to the start after parking your car.

Thistlebrig to the North Inch at perth. The course includes several small rapids and stretches of shallow water.

Car parking is available in the public car park opposite the track leading down to the river.

The Short and Long Courses include considerable sections of white water with optional portages which may be compulsory at the organiser's discretion at Campsie Linn and Stanley weir. There are stretches of shallow water on all courses and overstern rudders are recommended.

FINISH : All courses will finish at the North Inch, Perth.( O.S. sheet 53, Ref. 121242 ) Please do not park at the finish on the pathway alongside the Tay at the North Inch.; use the Bell Centre car park which is across the North Inch from the finish. Showers and changing facilities are also available at the Bell Centre Prize-giving will also be at the Bell Centre.

ENTRIES : Seniors £3.50 Juniors £2.50. Cheques made payable to the Scottish Canoe Association. Entries will be taken up to half an hour before the start of the race. Please provide S.A.E. for results

SAFETY : All junior competitors must wear buoyancy aids or a life jacket, and boats must have been approved inherent buoyancy in bow and stern. Seniors may be required to wear buoyancy aids, and should bring one to the event.
