This is an
open 10km race run on the Saturday afternoon at the beginning
of Scottish Racing Week. It provides paddlers with the opportunity
to paddle the rougher parts of the Tay before the divisional race
on the Sunday.
The course
starts at the SCA Access Point at Bridge of Isla north of Perth
and finishes just below the rapid at Thistlebrig. There are considerable
stretches of white water on this course which includes the Campsie
Linn, Stanley Weir and Thistlebrig rapids. Overstern rudders are
recommended at all water levels.
