Course Details

This event will be held over the weekend of 20th and 21st April 2002 and divided into set stages. On the first day the race starts on the Forth and Clyde Canal at Port Dundas in Glasgow and covers the 24 miles to Falkirk. There are 3 portages on this section, at Banknock, Allandale and Underwood Locks.

On the second day, the race restarts in Falkirk on the Union Canal and covers the 32 miles to Lochrin Basin in Edinburgh. As the Union Canal is a contour canal, it has no locks.

Due to completion of the Millennium Link Project, the full course will be available. The exact start and finish points for each day's paddle are stil to be decided.

Entries are allowed in the following categories:

  • K1 paddling the whole course (paddlers of 16 years and over)
  • K2 paddling the whole course (paddlers of 16 years and over)
  • K1 relay, two paddlers as a team
  • K2 relay, four paddlers as a team
  • K1 team, up to six paddlers as a team
  • K2 team up to 12 paddlers as a team
