Do you fancy spending the last weekend in April doing something different?

On Saturday April 28th and Sunday April 29th the annual Glasgow to Edinburgh Marathon will be held on the Forth & Clyde and the Union Canals. Due to the Millennium works on the canals the race is slightly shorter than usual and will only cover 43 miles this year, approximately 23 on Saturday and 20 on Sunday This is a great opportunity for teams of paddlers to get together in any kind of canoe and join in the fun, and nobody needs to paddle any great distance as there are so many places that relay teams can change paddlers.

In the past we have had people aged 8 to 80 years and of all abilities of paddling participating. There are classes for single and double boats, from those paddling the whole distance to relay teams of 2 single or 2 doubles paddling alternate sections

and teams of up to 6 boats. In the relay classes there are no set distances for individual paddlers.

We are hoping this year to have paddlers from all types of canoeing to come along and join in the fun, so why not try and get a team together and join us.
