As we
build up to the iduction of the first 50 Scottish sportsmen
and women into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame on St Andrews
Day this year, BBC Scotland are producing a Sporting Legends
radio series in support of the project.
The Sporting
Legends series is five programmes, starting just after the
10pm news on Monday 21 October and continuing every night
that week. Each programme will trail the Scottish SPorts Hall
of Fame Inductoin Ceremony on the 30 November.
The programmes
will be narrated by John Beattie and will take the following
themes:
Monday
21 October - Pioneers and Working Class Heroes
Tuesday 22 October - Against the Odds
Wednesday 23 October - Women on Top
Thursday 24 October - World at Their Feet
Friday 25 October - Waiting in the Wings.
In addition
to the Radio broadcasts the BBC will include coverage of the
event on the 30 November in their TV news broadcasts on the
day and are also producing a TV programme on Scottish Sports
Hall of Fame which will be broadcast on St Andrews night itself.
