Touring
Committee chairman Ian Miller recently presented a gold medal
touring award to Mark Jardine of Iona.
Mark,
formerly the local postman but now making a living doing boat
trips, logged 4000km to reach the award target.
To celebrate,
Mark and Ian took a quick trip out to Staffa. Wind was F5/6
with a lumpy sea to match and they didnt linger on the
island. Apparently run of the mill for Mark his tour
log contains some hair raising accounts according to former
touring awards scheme organizer Ian Webster.
Death
defying exploits are certainly not obligatory in qualifying
for a touring award and normal mortals can start with a bronze
award at 600km. Apply to the SCA office for a logbook today!
