Hi
Been following the open canoe exploits and looks like it is becoming quite popular. I wanted to propose a trip on the Tay from Islamouth to Waukmill on Sun the 6th of March.I don,t get many weekends off and this is the first I can manage. I noticed that the group never got Stanley/Thistlebrig done last week so I had hoped for some interest for a repeat.I intend to go in at Islamouth on the A93,thereby giving us all the rapids on the lower Tay.Any thoughts. Regards Steve |

count us in for this.
I've not done this before, is it suitable for the Spirit 17 footer? If other folk are likely to play alot we could go in single boats so that we don't get left out of the fun. I assume kayakers are welcome as per usual? |

Hi Tony
I think you 17ft boat would be fine, all the rapids a open and straightforward.I will be in my 16ft prospector and will have a complete novice bow paddler.A few kayaks are coming along also.I am hoping for lots of boats as its a Sunday and no anglers to disturb.Plenty of parking at the SCA access point at the bridge of Isla.Access via the gate on the Kinclaven B road.Sheet 53 grid 162383. Will propose a time a bit later but now rush so probably about 11am on the water. Regards Steve |
