Hi, I am in the process of buying a canadian, Im looking for that legendary do it all boat, single/tandem, multiday camping on flat and moving water. I am considering the wenonah aurora and the novacraft prospector 16 (both royalex) but am having trouble organising a demo. anyone with experience of these boats who can give me any advice?

I think Outward Bound Loch Eil have a fleet of Auroras for sale at the moment (one year old, annual stock turn over). Speak to Claire Knifton. Check out For Sales here and on Get Out Canoeing second hand board which is where I saw 'em advertised.

Hi Andy
For the type of paddling you are intending to do I would have to pick the PROSPECTOR it does everything really well and in my opinion is THE CANOE . All the other design`s that are on the market maybe do somethings better than the prospector ,one will maybe turn quicker ,another will track better , another will hold more load etc .but none will come near it`s overall performance. I have only paddled one on a few occasions and loved it ,if I had the space I would have one. The Novacraft model looks so like the original Chestnut Canoe Co design . Check out Bill Mason Path of the Paddle book`s and videos. The Wenoah Aurora is a boat that I have never been in and I dont no of any paddlers who have , sorry if this inforation is a little one sided. Contact Jim at Carlisle , Stirling , Highland Canoes for a demo Greytowel |
