Doug is a full time member of the instructional staff at Glenmore Lodge, Scotland's National Centre. He is qualified as a Level 5 Inland and Sea Coach, as well as a Level 4 Surf Coach, and therefore spends most of his time floating on water and teaching.

Doug has paddled extensively throughout the U.K. on the seas and rivers and at every opportunity Doug heads off on paddling trips abroad.

On the sea he's been on expeditions and trips to the East Coast of Greenland, The Lofoton Islands in Arctic Norway and the relaxing Sardinian coastline. Whilst on the river he's worked and played on the rivers of Europe, in particular Austria as well as spending time on the fantastic rivers of Nepal.
